PURPOSE:To reduce the number of parts required for assembling a device and simplify its construction, by permitting an orifice provided in a piston rod to be variable with an operation from the outside and selecting a damping power into multiple stages. CONSTITUTION:In a piston rod 3, longitudinal and lateral holes 16, 17 for linking oil chambers 4, 5 are drilled and used as a fixed orifice, and in the center of the rod 3, holes 18, 19 are provided into which a rod 20 is rotatably inserted, and a cylindrical body 21 fixed to the rod 20 is rotatably provided in the longitudinal hole 16. And in a position of the cylindrical body 21 at a face-to-face relation with the lateral hole 17, a plurality of orifices 22a,-22n smaller than the lateral hole 17 with respectively different inside diameters are drilled, and any one of those orifices is allowed to selectively make a connection to the lateral hole 17 in accordance with a rotary motion of the cylindrical body 21 by a rotation of a knob substance 38 to otbtain a variable area for oil flowing in the lateral hole 17, thus to adjust a damping power correspondingly to the orifices 22a,-22n. |
