PURPOSE:To make it possible to shorten considerably the time from host computer's transmission of data base update request to receiving of update completion, by updating the actual data base after transmitting data update completion to the host computer. CONSTITUTION:When back end computer 2 receives data base update request from host computer 1, data for update of record units is sent to working buffer 25, and the update command is sent to data base updating circuit 23. Then, updating circuit 23a updates contents of working buffer 24 with records of update buffer 25 and stores contents of updated buffer 25 into log data memory circuit 23b and returns the update completion signal to computer 1 through interface circuit 21. After that, circuit 23a writes the logical page of the data bus, which is updated actually, in buffer 24 onto mass storage unit 3 for data base. As a result, the time from host computer's transmission of data base update request to receiving of update completion can be shortened considerably. |
