PURPOSE:To provide superior release characteristic to a heating roller even in its initial use stage and prevent the occurrence of toner staining by performing the polishing and finishing of the resin film of the heating roller while rotating the same in the same direction as the rotating direction at the fixing. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a cylinder 11 of roughened aluminum is coated with a primer and is then fired at about 380 deg.C. An emulsion liquid of ''Teflon '' is spray-coated thereon and is fired at about 380 deg.C. This operation is repeated several times to form a ''Teflon '' resin layer 12 of a required film thickness. After this, it is finished by polishing with sandpaper and feather cloth. At this time, the rotating direction of the roller is let to coincide with the rotating direction of the time when it is used in a fixing device. Thereby, the directions of the fine fibers of the ''Teflon '' surface are directed to the same direction and are stabilized; therefore, the release characteristic even in its initial use stage of the roller may be given. |
