<p>Plastics, foamed material, solid rubber, textiles, wood or combinations of these, may be used in a profiled shaped unit, laid in front. This unit is used to seal off expansion and working joints in buildings or construction above and below ground. Use is made of a profile unit(1) of polygonal cross-section, pref. hexagonal; or octagonal, extended in one direction so that two parallel sides (2) are vertical to two other sides (3), partially corresponding to lines of a rectangle. It can also be rectangular, with rounded corners; or oval. It may be hollow. This is effective in respect of fracture expansion, and assists insertion of sealing materials.</p> |
