PURPOSE:To enable hold or release of a trouble state to enhance safety, by detecting occurrence of troubles in an image forming apparatus, such as a copier, and retaining part of electric power supply independent of interruption action of the electric power supply. CONSTITUTION:When sheet jam is detected, signal JAM is produced to light indicator 49 or intermittently flash it. The power supply of dangerous loads, such as high voltage parts or heaters is simultaneously cut off. The process cycle is interrupted on the way of that cycle, and neither copy of the preset cycle nor copy of one cycle is not carried out. Although the power supply is switched off, the power supplies of CPU, RST are retained to make the preset number to be not canceled. In the case of jam, restart of the next process is made possible only by manually turning on a switch for releasing pause due to jam, and it is impossible to restart copying only by turning on a copying key. |
