<p>Components of the housing enclosing the condenser, such as the walls, roof and end covers, in a domestic linen dryer, have cavities with heat contact which are filled with a medium such as phenol, paraffin and/or diphenylamine. These media are solid at room temp. (20 deg.C) but become fluid at 30-53 deg.C, necessitating a heat of fusion. The humidity picked up from the linen by the circulating air can thus be condensed efficiently without the need for large volumes of coolant from outside.</p> |
