PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of moire phenomenon by specifying the stretching direction of a screenlike photoreceptor in an image forming method of forming images by modulating ion current by the use of the photosensitive screen. CONSTITUTION:A screenlike photoreceptor stretched with a screen in the direction of 25-35 deg. (preferably 27.5-32.5 deg.) to the longitudinal direction of an original or photoreceptor (or in the direction orthogonal to this) is used. If the above-mentioned photoreceptor of a mesh value 244 is used, moires are produced with a halftone original of about >=184 lines/inch, but the originals which become the target of copying are, in general, >=170 lines/inch halftone images (the majority are <=130 lines/inch) and there are no problems in practicable use. |
