One end (14) of the fan shaft (16) is supported by a bearing (18) located in a bearing housing (12). The impeller (24) has an elastic bush (26) fixed into its centre bore. The bush (26) is extended (27) to butt against the external face of the bearing inner sleeve (20). The impeller is held in place by a spring clip (36) acting against a disc (38). The impeller is driven by a drive pin (28) located in the shaft extension (14) and which locates in slots (32) in the elastic bush extension (27). This arranangement allows simple assembly of the impeller into the shaft.
