Gearwheel forming part of toy construction kit - has fitted hub connection with sickle-shaped cut=out extending round hub cover

Part of a construction kit such as a wheel (1) gear wheel etc. has a hub (3) fitted on one side for placing onto and being attached by friction to rod shaped cylindrical section such as axes or shafts. One part of the hub connection is recessed by a sickel shaped cut out extending concentrically round the hub cover and within the centre of this cut out there is a slot which completely cuts through the hub cover in an axial direction. The bore of the hub includes a thickening extending along the slot and increasing in size towards the slot. The system is used in toys and is cheap and easy to use.
