PURPOSE:To decrease the wear of a nozzle for injecting molten steel on the surface of a rotary cooling body by using the molding of the specific composition for said nozzle. CONSTITUTION:In the manufacture of an alloy sheet of amorphous material, the molding of >=50wt% silicon nitride and oxide or nitride of mainly Mg, Y, Zr, Cr, Fe, Al, Si, B, etc. for the remainder is used for a nozzle for injecting molten alloy. For example, 69wt% silicon nitride is liquid-phase sintered to form the nozzle. The remainder are 20% Al2O3, 5% MgO, 4% Y2O3, and others. Its apparent voids are several % and apparent specific gravity about 3.4. By using this, 4kg Fe80P13C7 alloy is quenched and frozen by a single roll method and an amorphous sheet of 40mm.W is continuously produced over about 430m. As a result, the nozzle was merely eroded at <=0.8mm. from the molten metal contact surface and the amorphous strip being virtually uniform with respect to its thickness and length is yielded. |
