<p>A device for solids/liquid sepn. consists of a double-walled bag with an outer sheath, made of plastic or rubber and an inner wall, made of filter cloth or filter paper (for throw-away applications). The gap between them can be filled with an open-pore layer. Sheath and cloth can be formed into a hose at the open bag end which can be inflated for sealing purposes. Such a filter requires a much smaller capital investment than a filter press, revolving vacuum filter or centrifuge. The large relative filtering area results in a high throughput.</p> |
