ZOOMING CONTROL SYSTEM OF PICTURE SIGNAL

PURPOSE:To obtain a gentle variation of the picture even with the continuous reduction, by dividing the picture signal to apply the divided picture signal to the plural numbers of circuits having different frequency characteristics and then compounding each output with the weighting given with the coefficient relating the zooming ratio. CONSTITUTION:Signal 1 as it is of input picture element series Xi and signal 2 which passed through the LPF having the cut-off frequency of e.g. 1/2 are formed respectively and then supplied to multipliers 3 and 4 each. The coefficients of multipliers 3 and 4 are set to [1 - f(r)] and [f(r)] each with the reduction ratio set to r. And the sum of these coefficients is always set to 1. At the same time, each coefficient can be varied according to ratio r. The outputs of multipliers 3 and 4 are added together to carry out the zooming operation. Thus the folding distortion can be reduced when the zooming reduction is given. At the same time, a gentle variation of the picture image can be realized visually in a simple hard constitution and even with the continuous reduction.
