A supply reel from which the plastics strip is unwound to pass to a perforator which makes two rows of holes across the strip at regular intervals, then at the folding station, a truncated triangular plate and a sharper pointed triangular plate push the strip inwards to form zig-zag folds, each with its top pushed in to make a tuck which has a row of perforations in each face, the folded material then passing to a hot welding station and a cutter. The supply reel has a braking system and is followed by tensioning rollers, and there is a set of tensioning rollers between the welding electrodes and the cutter. A monitoring and control system can be included. |
