Centrifugal weights on the pump shaft move a sleeve which has a cap which moves the end of a control lever. A linkage from the lever moves the pump control rod. A force lever (29) pivoted at the same point as the control lever limits the movement of the sleeve cap. Its position is determined by a stop (33). The stop is on the end of a shaft (34) which is normally held against a spring by a pin (52) engaging in a groove in the head (47) of the shaft. The pin is withdrawn for starting by a solenoid to allow the spring to move the stop.
