The rotary piston engine with continuous combustion comprises a housing with sealing strips (3, 9) engaging the rotary piston (4, 5) and defining two chambers (8, 16), an inlet port (1), and an exhaust port (17). Air enters through the inlet, is compressed and via a non-return valve (10) reaches a storage vessel (11) and then, via a heat exchanger (13) and a pressure control valve (12), a combustion chamber (14) where fuel is injected. The expanding gas re-enters the housing where it produces work, rotating the piston. The exhaust gas is used to pre-heat the air in the heat exchanger. The seal of the working chambers may be effected by rollers.
