The intermediate feed drive for presses and punches has a uniformly rotating drive shaft. The output shaft rotates at a higher velocity fora given angular range to drive a crank or the feeder. The drive shaft (4) carries a gear wheel (16) and the output shaft (12) an eccentric second gear wheel (18) which does not engage with the first. A third gear wheel (25) rotates on a swivelling lever to engage the other wheels at all times. The eccentricity of the second gear wheel can be adjusted on the output shaft.
