A neck bar (13), which extends over the width of at least one bedding-down enclosure, is fitted on both sides of said bedding-down enclosure on a pivot arm (12) in each case. Consequently, the neck bar (13), with the two pivot arms, can be pivoted out upwards about a horizontal pin (14). When it is not pivoted out, the neck bar (13) rests on a bearing (11) which is arranged at a predetermined height. Although it forces the animal backwards in the desired manner when they are upright, such a neck bar (13) does not, however, cause any injury to the animals when they stand up because it (13) can pivot out upwards when an animal bumps against it from beneath. <IMAGE>
