The clamping device is built up from four screw clamps (10) with four connecting blocks (12) in the corners. Each screw clamp (10) has a shank (14) and a crosshead (16) at one end and sliding block (18) with screw (20) operating along the shanks of two clamping screws. The shanks are accommodated in correspondingly sized open channels (26) provided in corner blocks (12) while the other two clamps have shanks (14), cross heads (16) on one end and clamping blocks (18) operated by nuts on other shank end with threads (20). The shanks (14) are accommodated in open channels (18) provided in corner blocks (12). Shanks (14) cross each other in different levels, while one set of shanks (14) is fitted flat in channels (26) and the other set is fitted upstanding in channel (28).
