<p>The vent equipment is for a climbing jack. It has an inflatable air bellows and a silencer at the end of the vent pipe, through which the escaping air is discharged at reduced pressure. In the vent pipe before the silencer is a pressure-reducing and vent valve (23), incorporating a housing (27) with a sealing plate (48) and a valve plate (32). The valve plate has a face subjected to the working pressure (34), a hole through it (33), and a sealing surface (42) which can be pressed against the sealing plate. A compression spring (44) bears against this surface, the force it exerts being less than that of the compressed air against the pressure face (34).</p> |
