PURPOSE:To obtain a battery having a high resistance to overcharge and a high charge-and-discharge reversibility by using zinc powder and zinc-oxide powder as negative active material and placing a zinc-oxide layer on the separator side. CONSTITUTION:A positive-electrode can 2 is packed with a positive-electrode 1 made of an active material of two components which are, for instance, silver oxide and silver, and a separator 7 is equipped on the can 2. A negative-electrode can 4 is packed with a negative-electrode 3 which is made of active materials of zinc. A circular gasket 8 is layed between the can 2 and the can 4 in order to hermetically seal the opening between them, and the whole constitutes a button-type secondary battery. The negative-electrode 3 of such a battery is composed of two layers: a zinc layer 5 is formed by packing zinc powder in the negative-electrode can 4, and a zonc-oxide layer 6 is formed by packing zinc-oxide powder on the layer 5 of the separator 7 side. |
