Two=piece non-round bar connecting door handles - has lug from one bar half to hole in other, with pawl preventing withdrawal

Two halves of a non-circular pin connect handles for a lock. The system is used esp. on a door, with oref. rectangular coaxial holes in two axially opposite nut halves for insertion of the pin halves which have an intervening coaxial lug of smaller dia. This lug extends from one handle pin half into a coaxial hole in the other half, where it is held, so as to prevent axial withdrawal, by a stop latch. The lug is pref. non-rotatably connected to the first pin half, and able to turn inside the hole. It can be an integral part of the first half. The installation is simplified, and there is no danger of loosening after prolonged use. It is reliable on fire-protective emergency doors.
