The arrangement (3) is intended for ventilating the inside of a motor vehicle. It comprises a gap (9) with adjustable width arranged transversely across the vehicle roof (5). The gap width adjusting element (7) is preferably arranged along at least one edge (8) of the gap and may consist of a cranked transverse rod. By rotation of the rod, the adjusting element moves downwards, thus moving the rearward roof portion down to open the gap. The edges of the gap may have cover strips (17,18) arranged to seal the gap in the closed position.
