<p>The process measures, aligns, and trims rough edged planks, which have one wide and one narrow cut surface. Each plank (1) is aligned and measured for width at two points (13,14) along its side edge (2). Before reaching the trimming unit (31), each plank is centralized at the alignment point, and each corresponding point (A1,D1). Two trimming cutters (32,33) are independently adjusted, but partly dependent upon the previous measurements. The handling appliance consists of two transverse conveyors (9,10) with continuously moving actuators (11,12), which hold the planks at the alignment points. A measuring station (15) has measuring heads (16) near the actuators; and an alignment station (18) has two pairs of symmetrically movable stops (20,21,22,23). The trimming cutters are adjusted via a width adjuster (34,35), which contacts the measuring heads via an evaluation unit (17).</p> |
