The mobile conveyor gantry has a conveyor belt running from the loading to the discharge end, being equipped with a driving unit, and tilting about a horizontal transverse axis between the working and the horizontal travel positions on a supporting chassis. The axis is lowered to reach the transport position, the gantry being supported in the latter on the chassis roughly at its centre of gravity. The axis is offset from the centre of gravity of the gantry towards the discharge end, and on lowering moves in relation to the chassis in the direction of the latter. The chassis has an auxiliary support acting against a point on the gantry in the travel position offset from the centre of gravity in the direction of the loading end.
