The trailer brake (30) system comprises a valve assembly with load-dependent action. It comprises an inlet valve (18,23) whose spring-loaded (19) closure member (18) has a fixed seat (23) in the housing (1) and a control piston (2,3) assembly carrying an extension (27) which forms the seat of an outlet valve (18,27). The valve closure member is arranged in a piston (9) of the emergency brake assembly, which is freely slidable between the control piston and the inlet valve on a valve control rod (4). It is pressure- or spring-loaded in the direction of a fixed stop (57) in the housing.
