Drag reduction air-scoops for rear of car - has scoops angled to collect lateral airstream to destroy swirling slipstream

The drag reduction air scoops fitted to the rear outside edges of a car cause the airstream to be deflected outwards and downwards to counteract the large double swirl set up behind conventional car shapes, and thereby reduce drag and prevent soiling of the rear of the car and the rear windscreen. The scoops have conccave surfaces directed outwards and are tapered towards the front of the car. The rear edge of each scoop is sloped inwards to the middle of the car. The scoops are either made in single mouldings or are assembled from sections according to the required lengths.
