Extrusion press for plastomers and elastomers - has radial kneading pins inserted in solid bridges across cooling jacket

Extrusion presses for mixing, kneading and extrusion of thermoplastic and rubber mixtures are fitted with pins which penetrate radially through the cooling jacket into the space between the ribs of the screw. The pins are screwed into local casing parts which form a solid bridge (cast or welded) between the outer and inner wall of the cooling jacket. This cuts out all sealing problems on conventional designs and saves all sealing devices for the coolant near the pins.
