Method and arrangement for measuring the consistency of a flowing fluid, preferably the concentration of mass suspensions. The fluid flow is divided into two parallel- connected pipelines 4, 5 with different flow resistance. By determining the total flow through the pipelines and the difference in flow between the two pipelines, one obtains a measure of the consistency of the fluid. Inductive flow sensors 6, 7 are preferably used.
