An automatic returning mechanism comprises a turntable drive motor (18) having a turntable shaft (18a) and a pinion gear (20), a large gear (2), a return plate (8), linking pawls (4), (5), a slide lever (12) and a microswitch (21) for the motor (18) and a base plate (1). When the base plate (1) is merely mounted on a record player cabinet and the slide lever (12) is connected atone end thereof to an actuator (16) mounted at a tone arm shaft (15), a record player is extremely readily assembled completely. When the pinion gear (20) mounted to the turntable shaft (18a) is merely engaged with a boss (19a) provided at the turntable (19), the record player cabinet can be reduced in its thickness in a device for playing the record player. |
