METHOD OF PRODUCING INTRAVENOUSLY INJECTABLE GAMMA GLOBURIN

γ-Globulins for i.v. administration which have free anticomplement activity are prepd. from Cohen fractions II or III or of placenta exts. contg. these fractions. A paste of the Cohen fractions or placenta ext. was extd. with pyrogen-free H2O at PH 4.9-6 and dild. by addn. of polyethylene glycol to 4 % and then with EtOH to 4-12 % at -6 to 10oC. The pptd. impurities were sepd. and the remaining ext. was dild. again by addn. of polyethylene glycol to 12 % and EtOH to 25 % at pH 7-8.2. The r-glubulin were pptd. at -6 to 20oC and sepd.
