<p>The water wheel has an endless belt assembly, revolving around two rotatable rollers (3,4) fitted to horizontal axles (1,2) mounted one above the other at a spacing adequate to fully extend the belt. The belt has horizontal cross-members (8) each equipped with wires to retain a long trough (9), open along one broad side and closed along the opposite narrow side. When positioned under a duct of flowing water (11), the troughs (9) fill with water and the additional weight causes the belt to rotate, as each trough empties as it turns through the lowest point. The axle (1) through the upper roller is connected to a gearing block (6) and a generator (7).</p> |
