PURPOSE:To provide a recording liquid which excels in the water resistance, the wear resistance, the resolution and the fixation properties of a recorded image, containing an intramolecular ester of a hydroxycarboxylic acid, water and a water- soluble dye. CONSTITUTION:(A) 1-80wt% of an intramolecular ester of a hydroxycarboxylic acid having up to 10 carbon atoms, particularly 5-9 carbon atoms such as delta- valerolactone or epsilon-caprolactone, (B) 5-90wt% of a water-soluble org. solvent such as diethylene glycol or methyl alcohol, and (C) 10-90wt% of water, are mixed with 0.5-20wt% of a water-soluble dye such as Nippon Pure Yellow 5G or Direct Fast Scarlet 4BS. By this mixing, there is obtd. a recording liquid which excels in discharge response properties, discharging stability, continuous recording properties and shelf stability and which exhibits good discharge, response properties, discharging stability, etc. after suspension of the recording over a long period of time. |
