PURPOSE:To provide an ink droplet isolation phase retrieving device which has a droplet isolating phase of the most frequent phases of the number of coincidences in the isolating phase retrieval and in which the retrieving timing is not limited by retrieving the phase in the respective exciting phase. CONSTITUTION:In an ink jet recorder having means for retrieving a so-called droplet isolating phase for isolating an ink droplet from an ink liquid post injected from an ink jet head, the output of an amplifier 9 is heretofore supplied to a feeding circuit 3 as indicated by a broken line, and the phase of an exciting signal applied to a vibrator is varied until an output signal is presented at a detecting electrode to retrieve it. In addition to the conventional phase retrieving device, an I/O and RAM13 are further provided, thereby controlling the phase of an exciting signal supplied to the vibrator and the charging pulse applied to a charging electrode and monitoring the output signal from a the detecting electrode. Thus, the phase in which the number of the coincidences in the retrieval is most frequent is determined as a liquid droplet isolating phase. |
