<p>PURPOSE:To make the rise direction of liquid crystal molecules constant and obtain a liquid crystal display device of improved multiplex driving characteristics by constituting the liquid crystal orientation films to be formed on electrode substrates by the two layers formed by oblique vapor deposition done from the directions differing with each other by roughly 180 deg.. CONSTITUTION:The 1st thin film layer 3 is formed on a glass substrate 2 provided with transparent electrodes 1 by obliquely evaporating SiO or MgF2 at incident angles 75-90 deg. (preferably 78-88 deg.), thence the 2nd thin film layer 4 is formed by executing oblique vapor deposition in a similar manner from the direction differing by 180 deg. from the above-mentioned vapor deposition direction. Thence, a pair of the substrates constituted as mentioned above are opposed by way of a spacer 5 and a liquid crystal 6 is sealed therebetween, whereby the display device is formed.</p> |
