The hoist for slinging long loads to minimise wind effects has a long horizontal bar (1) suspended from the crane hook (6) by cables (4,5). The load is slung from eyelets (7,8) by cables (9,10). A triangular vane (11) is fitted to one end of the horizontal bar (1) and the other end has a counterbalance weight (12). The two sides (23,24) of the vane (11) are separated by an angle of 40 deg. The effect is to turn the load, which could be a large building panel, into the wind. Loads can then be manoeuvred during winds which would otherwise be unacceptable.
|
