PURPOSE:To enhance machining stability and provide a high-speed high-efficiency machining by a method wherein a vibrator is excited by resonance power. CONSTITUTION:An electrode 1 and the work 2 are faced to each other and form a machining gap therebetween. A machining solution jetting nozzle 3 comprises nozzles 31, 32 and jets out the machining solution into the machining gap from around. Then, with an electric discharge effected across the machining gap by a pulse fed from a machining power source 7, the series resonance circuit consisting of the vibrator 4 and an inductance 8 resonates due to the discharge at the machining gap, the resonance current flows in the vibrator 4 to generate a high-frequency vibration, which is applied to the jetted machining solution through a horn 5. In addition, since the penetrating effect is enhanced by the vibration, the supply of the solution through a narrow groove such as wire cut is facilitated and it is possible to conduct a high-speed high-efficiency machining. |
