<p>The machine tool cuts screw threads in a single pass and can treat large dia. bar (3), using an angularly adjustable revolving milling wheel (32) mounted on a lathe slide. A fixed cylindrical drum (48) is mounted on the slide, having circular rotatable end walls (49,50). Its axis (A) is horizontal and normal to the major lathe axis (L). A drum-mounted motor (34) drives the wheel (32) through pulley wheels (41,42), belt (43) and bevel gears (45). The wheel (32) rotates about its axis (35) of revolution which aligns in a plane parallel to the lathe axis (L). The drum axis (A) intersects the wheel axis (35), with the end walls (49,50) being rotated to adjust the inclination of the cutter relative to the lathe axis (L).</p> |
