The gymnastic device is constructed such that it can be set up in an apartment and can be folded up when not in use. It is primarily used in physiotherapy in the treatment of slipped discs, curvature of the spinal column and the like. The said device has a high bar (10) on either side of which a bearing sleeve (13) is rotatably attached. Welded to the bearing sleeves are fastening plates (17, 21) onto which wooden supports (27, 29) are screwed. The supports are connected to one another at their lower end by respective cross-struts (31, 36). In the use position, length-adjustable tensile members, for example straps (40), ensure stability. <IMAGE>
