The vacuum pad consists of a hood (1) with vertical sides mounted at the end of a soldered tube (3). The top plate is backed by a perforated plate (4). The sides of the pad are covered by a flexible skirt. The centre plate (5) is located via distance studs (7). The leather skins (8) are picked up to follow the contour of the pad. The pad can pick up a second skin under the first. The system may include several vacuum pads to handle the larger skins.
