<p>PURPOSE:To improve efficiency and automate the removal of sprues by hitting the top surface of each sprue by an impact tool in a state that the frozen castings poured into shell molds are housed in pouring boxes, thereby removing the sprues. CONSTITUTION:In a shell mold casting method of housing a shell mold in a pouring box 13, backing up its circumference by aggregate 18 such as steel shot and pouring molten metal, the cooled and frozen casting 17 after the pouring of molten metal is sent to the lower part of a sprue removing device 1 by a transfer means 19. An impact tool 12 is brought above a sprue 16 opposedly thereto by the movement of a travelling frame 6, thence a vertical type cylinder 10 is lowered to continuously hammer the top face of the sprue by a hammer 11 at its end and press the same downward. Although a product 14 is held by aggregate, the connecting part A between the product and an ingate 15 which is weak in strength is easily cut and separated.</p> |
