PURPOSE:To prevent inverse segregation and leaving of dissolved gas and achieve the uniform fining of structure by giving continuous reciprocating motion to freezing interfaces by the reciprocating motion of the entire part of a traction device. CONSTITUTION:A traction device 3 is composed of traction rolls 5 and press rolls 5, and the action of an eccentric cam 8 to generate the amplitudes of reciprocating motion by the operation of a power source 9 such as a motor or an oil pressure causes the entire part of the device to repeat reciprocating motion at a fixed amplitude and frequency. As a result, a cast ingot 10 is pulled forward while making direct reciprocating motion. |
