The electric motor drive is for a rotary offset printing press with a satellite cylinder working with gear-driven rubber and plate cylinders. Mounted inside the satellite cylinder and on its non-rotating shaft (4) is an external-rotor-type motor (2), whose outer portion (5) is secured to the outer sleeve portion (7) of the satellite cylinder, the latter running in bearings in the press sidewalls (10). The rotor is also coupled to a gear (11), rotating with the sleeve portion (7), and driving the rubber and plate cylinders (12.14). The rotor can be coupled via a reduction gear train (6) to the cylinder end (8), which forms a bearing trunnion for the gear mounted on it.
