<p>The armature coil of the motor is connected directly to the vehicle battery, while its field coil is connected to the same via an electronic rectifier for control of the motor speed. Between the motor drive and the drive axis of the vehicle is incorporated a centrifugal clutch, connected or disconnected according to the motor speed. Between the clutch and the drive axis is mounted a gear-change transmission. The d.c. shunt motor can be accelerated, or braked, by an electronic control system, which energises the electronic rectifier, in accordance with disengagement of the existing gear and at the beginning of the engagement of the new desired gear. The acceleration, or braking, corresponds to the speed for the layshaft required at this moment for the vehicle speed and the new engaged gear. The control device receives the respective control signals from sensors.</p> |
