The hydraulic winch is for hauling and lifting loads, particularly onto vehicles. It comprises two haulage cylinders, through whose hollow pistons, equipped with clamping jaws, the rope is passed. A guide tube can be provided, through which the rope is passed into a drum cage. Pistons and jaws can be sealed by round membranes, and the jaws can be subjected to the pressure in the respective cylinders, so that the pressure on the rope always matches the haulage force. The jaws can be of the round-piston or wedge-type, in the latter case actuated by pistons and springs.
