The circuitry periodically releasing a signal transmitter can be used in connection with a music box whose roll carries several pieces of music. The circuitry is dependent upon a time control unit that operates a first switch with a mechanical release impulse. This first switch is coupled to the signal generator motor via a second switch. After expiration of a selected signal period, the signal generator operates the second switch. The switches are connected as alternating switches contacted by the time control or signal generator motor. The latter engages a music box mechanism with a music roller and two cam discs supporting a switching operator for the alternating switches. The cam discs have two different operating cycle radians. They are rotatable relative to each other. The resultant greater and lesser radius sections are adjustable within a certain overlapping region.
