Grooves, accommodating the edges of the panels, provide joint connections for esp. large surface-area panels made of thermoplastic materials, used as cladding on concrete wall surfaces. The edges (1,2) of the panels (10) thrust into the grooves (6) are located at an interval from the base of the groove, to form control ducts. Supply ducts (17), connectable to a supply of fluid or compressed air, open out into the groove bases, or nearby groove sides. A foam producer, or other reaction medium, may be inserted in the ducts. Grooves pref. taper conically downwards, and panel edges have less conicity, or none. This is well sealed, can be used in areas subject to great temp. variation, and facilitates weld seam testing.
