The central-heating system incorporates heater bars. These are mounted in radiators and connected to the electric mains, so that each radiator can be independently heated, without the need to start up the complete central-heating system. Each bar can comprise an oblong sleeve containing the heater coil, together with a terminal box, cable and plug for connection to the mains.
