PURPOSE:An aqueous ink for use in writing tools with a pen point made of plastic rod, a bunched fiber or the like, wherein by the addition of a pyridine derivative, the solubility of the dye is heightened and the ejection of ink, when used in writing tools, is stabilized. CONSTITUTION:The aqueous ink is obtained by mixing (1) 50-80wt% of water, (2) 1-40wt% of a water-soluble organic solvent such as ethylene glycol, (3) 0.5-15wt% of an acid dye and/or a direct dye, such as Aizen Tartrazine or Chrysophenine G, and (4) 1-40wt% of a pyridine derivative. Examples of the com ponent (4) include an alkylpyridine such as 2-methylpyridine, a nitropyridine such as 2-nitropyridine, a halopyridine such as 2-chloromethylpyridine, a hydroxypyridine such as 2-pyridinol and a cyanopyridine such as 2-cyanopyridine. EFFECT:The ink is resistant to reverse flow into a cylinder when the tool is left with its pen point positioned uppermost. USE:Printing ink. |
