The circuit is intended to be substantially independent of variations of ambient temperature, with the possibility of achieving a low hysteresis without danger of generating oscillations particularly at "kick-down" conditions, whereby switching points at "zero gas" are not shifted due to hysteresis in dependence on the position of a control element of fuel supply. A vehicle speed signal is applied through a resistor R1 to the non-inverting input of an amplifier 2 the output of which controls a ratio shift switch 3. The inverting input of the amplifier is connected to a reference voltage divider and to the collector of a transistor T the emitter of which is connected to a potentiometer P coupled with the engine fuel control 4. The base of the transistor is connected to the output and to the non-inverting input of the amplifier and also to a kick-down switch S.
