<p>PURPOSE:To achieve a thin and small-sized sheet feeder by feeding the uppermost sheet of sheets in a sheet feed receptacle with a friction member adapted to reciprocate in the sheet feed direction. CONSTITUTION:On pressing a copy start button from making a copy, a solenoid 18 is first excited to turn a push-up plate 16 upward, so that a copy sheet 6 is pushed up through a turning cover 11. A driving motor 27 is started in timing to turn a screw shaft 30 forward, so that a retaining arm 22 integral with a friction member 21 is advanced in the sheet feed direction through a driven nut 25. Thus, the uppermost copy sheet of the copy sheets 6 pushed up is pushed out and fed by the friction member 21. Subsequently, when the retaining arm 22 is advanced to a specified position, the driving motor 27 is reversed and the solenoid 18 is deenergized, so that the friction member 21 is retreated out of contact with the sheet 6.</p> |
